Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit is an acclaimed Indian actor, known for her roles in the film Beta Saajan and Hum Aapke Haiin Koun..! In the late 80s the actress began her acting career, and was well-known for the character Tezaab which she played with an established actor Anil Kapooor. In the following film, she was a part of Aamir on Dil. Born into a middle-class family in Mumbai she started learning dance from a very young age. Early in her life, when she first started to perform as an actor, the majority of films she created did not succeed. Then she found her feet and became one of the top actresses in the Indian film industry. Her marriage led to a pause in her professional career. The actress returned in later years. In the last few years, Dixit played a significant role on Gulaab Gang a movie about the struggles of women in India. Dixit is nominated in 15 Filmfare Awards. Of these she's won eight. Padma Shri was awarded to Dixit. It is the fourth-highest civil honour in India. Social work by her is known to the world.
